Jennifer Fowler, President
Jennifer Gatz Fowler has 15 years of strategic consulting and entrepreneurial experience. As an entrepreneur and business owner, Jennifer brings firsthand knowledge to her clients of the day-to-day challenges every business owner faces, and a wealth of experience in how to meet those challenges while growing towards long-term goals.
Prior to founding Strategies By Design in 2014, Jennifer was the Associate Director of the Louisiana Business & Technology Center (LBTC) at LSU where she advised high growth startups. While at the LBTC, Jennifer led the research, design and implementation of several new programs and initiatives to enhance services for clients. Most notably, Jennifer created and directed the LSU Student Incubator, providing over 120 LSU student entrepreneurs with startup guidance while creating an internationally recognized incubator program in under four years.
Jennifer started her career in sales and marketing for Lee Hecht Harrison, a global human capital consulting firm, in New York. After several years of working with Fortune 100 clients, Jennifer returned to New Orleans to pursue her MBA. While in New Orleans, she worked at The Idea Village; helped found the small business advancement non-profit, Desire NOLA, following Hurricane Katrina; and worked at an interactive advertising agency developing expertise in marketing strategy and implementation. A Baton Rouge native, Jennifer returned home in 2007 to launch a sustainability consulting firm and Louisiana’s first sustainable retail store, Noelie Harmon.
Jennifer is an active member of the economic development and small business communities in Baton Rouge. She currently serves as an executive board member of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) and chair of BRAC’s Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council. Jennifer is a founding board member and past Treasurer of University Preparatory “UP” Elementary Charter School.
Jennifer is a graduate of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s Leadership Baton Rouge Class of 2013. She was named in the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report’s “Forty Under 40” list in 2013 and in the 2012 “Silicon Bayou 100” by Silicon Bayou News.
Jennifer has two degrees from Tulane University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Management and Psychology and her Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from the Freeman School of Business.
